Gymnocalycium bruchii is endemic of Argentina from the Cordoba and San Luis provinces. It is a miniature clumping cacti that clusters when small. This species is very variable and has received many names. Stems are flattened, low gray-blue-green, thick growing up to 4 cm in diameter, 6 cm long. The spines are soft white bristly, straight or curved and it’s flowers are bell to funnel-shaped, 6 cm wide, with an unusual shade of pale pink in early spring.
Care Tips: Partial – Full Sun. Protect from the mid summer extreme heat. Winter dormancy keep almost dry and above 32°. Summer water weekly. Blooms late winter – Spring. Fertilize once every season with succulent/cacti fertilizer or a balanced fertilizer.
