Ceropegia woodii (Variegated String of Hearts) is a beautiful vining plant with variegated leaves. It is native to South Africa, where they can tolerate dry soil. These heart-shaped leaves can thrive in bright, indirect sunlight and well-drained soil.
Since it is a semi-succulent plant, watering them is not so necessary because it can store water from its stems and leaves. Allow the soil to dry before watering them, and make sure there is an excellent draining hole in the pot to prevent root rot. Fertilizing them at least once a year during their growing season from spring to summer using a liquid fertilizer will help the plant bloom into a healthy and attractive one.
String of Hearts can grow outdoors and indoors. If growing indoors, plant them in a nice hanging basket and place them on bookshelves where they cascade down their beautiful foliage for spectacular visuals. You can propagate them via stem cuttings.
You can grow them in USDA Hardiness Zones 9-12.
